The Power of an Idea

Lady Philosophy talks about the ideas she has put in Boethius’ brain. She says they are better than an entire library full of books, and I think she’s right. While books are one of the most wonderful things on this earth, ideas are so much more. A book is limited in what it can say; an idea can encompass an entire book and so much more in a small space. Without ideas, Christopher Columbus would have never taken the voyage that led to the discovery of the Americas. Phones, computers, televisions, cars, and so many other incredible technological inventions would simply not be here. While a book can inspire people to act, there has to be an idea behind the book or there would be no inspiration. It is the power of an idea that can change the world.
